Before I had a dedicated gaming PC, I used to play Skyrim on an old laptop with ~20 FPS, so low that the trees wouldn't animate in the breeze anymore. I beat it that way... it wasn't pleasant, but my motivation to play that game outweighed my frustration with framerate
