You're wrong on this one. The "star" symbol you see in Turkiye's flag, for example, is in fact Venus. A symbol for the Mesopotamian goddess Ishtar (Venus' counterpart in Roman theology).

Historically and theologically, it is not an Islamic symbol. Turks adopted it after conquering Constantinople. You can find it in many sources, but here is a random blog I found.
