I read the first Thursday Murder Club book, and found it competent at best... it subsequent career (and continuing successful book series & now TV adaptation) merely confirm that being a famous well connected author is a lot more important than the quality of your book.
Don't get me wrong TMC is not dreadful, but there are a lot better books out there (but by lesser known authors) that were a lot more worthy of the attention.... as always its all about who you now!
