"It's too dangerous" really misunderstands how this whole descent into fascism thing works...
Yes, the protests are dangerous - but also, if they don't work, existing withing striking range (Currently - basically the entire planet, but particularly anywhere in the Americas) becomes dangerous.
(Not that there aren't valid reasons to not go to them, but, if the only reason is danger, I feel like that assessment is still founded on a 'it can't happen here' base assumption)
