He was vegetarian, not vegan. I only say this because people really like to dump on vegans. I'm vegan. I don't appreciate it. Most vegans who are more than a few years in are pretty quiet about because: (1) all oppression is connected and (2) we don't feel like having "Hitler was a vegetarian" thrown at us and having the conversation devolve from there. The stereotype of the obnoxious vegan is true of a few, noticeable people. The rest of us are just out here doing the work.
