The new BM1373 miners are getting a lot of attention right now. Before you pay the premium, it's worth asking a simple question: what are you actually getting for the money?
We ran a straight cost-of-ownership comparison, Nexus S1 vs NerdQaxe++ rev7, over three years of 24/7 operation at the U.S. average residential rate of 17.65¢/kWh.
In fairness to the BM1373, it is the more efficient silicon, 10 J/TH against 14 to 17 J/TH, and that advantage compounds at higher power rates and longer horizons.
The hype is loud, but numbers matter.
