It is not important who he is. It is important if his reporting is structurally flawed or not. When he really likes the USA and has good processes to ensure the stories he reports and writes are accurate, then I consider him a good source.
Information can be qualified without knowing the author. You clearly seem to try disqualifying the author. Not his content.
