I am not sure, if decentralised and censorship resistance is something the "masses" are interested in. Decentralisation comes with inconsistency ("Why can't I see all replies? Why is my follower count jumping?"). Censorship is usually not considered a problem, until you are censored.
I think Nostr need more features, that others can't provide. New shiny things (like zaps) generally attract more people than the absense of something (no censoring).
