Today’s tomato variety: Punta Toscana
First year growing these. I am pleasantly surprised but how big and plentiful they are and very early for a “San Marzano” type. They are very meaty and almost completely dry. The tomatoes average from 3 to 5 ounces. I grew only one plant as I did not know what to expect, definitely more next year. Flesh is dense, meaty and low in seeds and juice, yielding intensely concentrated, sweet-tomato flavor with bright acidity and savory depth. Excellent for sauces, paste, oven-roasting and fresh slicing when fully ripe. ~70–80 days.
