The UK's 'debate' over defence might should being reframed:
Debates about defence focus too much on the inputs (how much we spend) while focusing less on what security we achieve (albeit the latter also has its significant problems;
NATO procurement is largely nationally based leaving economics of scale under-achieved & coordination problems; better integration might be the answer;
We need to recognise our *real* position & cut our cloth accordingly!
