When we think about domestic violence's impact on women, often patriarchy & toxic masculinity dominate the discussion, but as Jennifer Mackay (NTU) points out, once we know that a third of domestic violence victims are male, things may be a little more complicated.

This is not to underestimate the impact of domestic violence on women victims, but does suggest issues like trauma & substance abuse might also being playing a major role.
