but yeah unfortunately i often notice a lot of the typical privacy influencer style talking points in a lot of what they say, it's silly

though i do have one disagreement with you as well, it's true that grapheneOS has governance issues and i agree that it's entirely unusable in high stakes circumstances due to not having a way to block all non-tor traffic (no, android's vpn mode is not strict enough), in that case no mobile OS is acceptable, but out of the mobile operating systems that exist i can't think of anything better (calyxOS is the only one that's deblobbed to a similar degree, and afaik nothing else hardens malloc() to the same degree grapheneOS does, for example)

so if someone's circumstances allow using a phone at all, grapheneOS is probably the sanest option for it
