This is one reason I became interested in Cashu. It's custodial, but
1. There are many mints to choose from.
2. Most merchants are unlikely to gain a significant amount of Bitcoin paying customers.
3. They allow me to hand little pieces of paper to demonstrate the technology.
4. In my opinion, the risk of rug-pull is low compared to exchanges.
5. Most mints do not offer stable coins. There is an exception
6. Wallets like Zeus encourage taking self-custody once a certain threshold is met.(10,000 sats)
7. Wallets like Bull Bitcoin make it easier to take self custody without burdensome fees.
8. They remind me of the free banking Hal Finney wrote about in 2010.
9. Chamuan e cash has been around since 1982
10. Many Cashu wallets include lightning addresses and NWC.
