Tetaf was our base.

Every morning, we packed our supplies, got on motorbikes, and headed deeper.

North Pene. Enoneontes. Lakat. Baki.
Villages scattered across the hills of South Timor Tengah. East Nusa Tenggara.

2 to 3 hours each way.
Rocky roads. Steep climbs. Narrow paths through the forest.
Sometimes too rough to ride.
We got off. Walked. Got back on. And kept going.

When we finally arrived at each village,
they were already there. Waiting. All of them.
I don't know how long they had been sitting. But they waited.
For a doctor to come to them, because they couldn't come to us.

I was tired. But when I saw their faces,
something shifted.
Not pity. Something deeper.
A quiet kind of urgency.
Like: there is no time to be tired right now.
So we started.

And the smiles.
Not just because they got medicine.
But because someone actually examined them.
Listened to their chest. Felt their pulse.
Looked them in the eye and said:
I see you. I'm here.

That's all medicine really is, sometimes.
Presence. Attention. Care.
No fancy equipment needed.
Just showing up.

This is why I stack Bitcoin.
So that one day, showing up like this doesn't have to depend on anyone's permission or anyone's budget.

The road was rough.
The work was real.
The smiles were worth every stone.
