im not sure where this thought belongs in the big picture of FoC, but something that came to me a few minutes ago is how some programming systems are in some sense self-bootstrapped, and how this has profound effects on what users of the system can do

i mean like, consider Godot. the app Godot is itself a Godot game, all of the UI you use is just classes build in Godot just like everything else in a Godot game you might make yourself

so writing a Godot plugin is the same skill as making a Godot game, meaning anyone who can make a Godot game can also modify and extend Godot itself. compare that to Unity or Unreal where this is just impossible
