That's fair and adjusted with inflation, I don't think they are that far off. OpenAI has taken ~$60 billion with a $300 billion evaluation and seem to be on track for $10 to $12 billion in revenue this year once you work out MS's cut.
That doesn't look too bad unless you really think people are going to walk away from AI. Outside of Mastodon, I don't see any sign of anything slowing down. If it does, it'd be training new models.
