a guy showed up who, irritatingly for them, started fixing tons of stuff they were leaving unfixed intentionally to force people over to wayland, the refusal to merge patches got comically obvious so the guy just forked xorg and so they deleted his repo (which is their right admittedly) and then banned a bunch of people from their git that asked why this was happening.
