I use only GrapheneOS and previously LineageOS for as long as it was called Cyanogen on OnePlus One. Never hear of this news feed until I setup dirt cheap Motorola phones for the kids to listen to music and use DuoLingo. I tried to lock down everything possible, uninstall or disable as much as offered by parental link. Still kidos keep coming back because : "Google app appeared" ou "pictures are seen when swiping left"...
I should have better get second hand pixel in the first place...
