You're actually implying that you don't want to maintain a persistent connection, and then all of the mechanisms w.r.t. connection management in the protocol. That's fair. We were considering very different matters.
I'll take your points into consideration. There is smth elegant about pressing a button, syncing data, and leaving. Though I'm afraid it'll kill interactivity.
