Now that my connectivity is all straightened out, I updated my web server from FreeBSD 13.5 to 14.4 and it all just worked with minimal effort. I like boring upgrades. I'm waiting for 15.1 to take it up to 15.x. I don't expect any problems, but 15.1 is coming out soon anyhow, and I'd rather wait.
Now I'm sorting out some local ZFS backups to make sure my local server is ready to safely move to 15.x as well.
