"Ethics is too variable"
This was a reply I got from an ai apologist. And it just about sums up the contemptible conclusion.
They mean "people have different ethics", but of course people don't have different ethics. Human ethics are quite consistent. Information might not be viz ignorance and post hoc rationalisations are quite varied of course.
Ergo calling out to the subjective nature of moral conclusion is such an amoral bullshit argument. Morals are inconvenient, but not varied.
