While you are absolutely right, you are also glossing over the peculiarity of a number that has no physical representation being present in one of the most fundamental physical equations. Also i here is more than just a mere "rotation" trick, since the rotation it is denoting is not happening in any physical dimension (as described in the video). While yes you can gripe about the naming of this amazing number, i think you're making an error simplifying something that is not as simple as you're making out to be.
