One of my kids just asked me to describe my middle school PE kit…for no other reason than they were curious.
My reaction definitely had a touch of PTSD.
Suddenly felt cold from the memory of short pleated skirts in mid winter and the torture of communal showers afterwards.
My kids don’t know they are alive. Not having to change at school, wearing joggers and hoodies.
Why did we collectively do this to girls…and then wonder why they grew up loathing anything approaching an exercise class?
