@ShadowAtlas on odysee made a comment about self-custodial sats long ago that I only start to fully capture now:

It's basically predicting what's already happened with zcash: people NEED an offramp and turn to. And naturally the most of them turn towards the path of least resistance (CEXes) and this majority of people forces retail/OTC to accept this Taliban rule of KYC aswell!
