There are more ways to improve your life than by diversifying into alternative monetary assets.
During the last bull, from early 2024 to late 2025, I chose to build a film and television library. Now that we're in a bear market I can enjoy cutting subscription services and still have a library to keep me busy.
Last night we watched The Fox and the Hound, we don't have Disney plus.
I also have almost every Studio Ghibli film, we recently watched Spirited Away, Ponyo, and Kiki's Delivery Service (one of my favorites, I love Phil Hartman's performance as Gigi!).
What is pictured is not my full library btw, just the main section. I didn't have a single copy of any movie before around January 2024. Feels good to build value in the physical world around me. I'm now looking into CDs at thrift stores and buying a lot of awesome discs of soundtracks, discovering new (to me) artists, and beautiful tranquil music for relaxation. Online there's lots of cool new affordable CD players with remotes and built in speakers even.
My advice for anyone wanting to do the same: Hunt at local Thrift stores, lots of good movies available for a buck or two each. Hunt eBay sellers running buy 2 get 1 free specials on movies that are under $5 each, so 3 for $10 effectively. I also enjoy big sellers for new movies, such as Gruv (though I've read there's a quality dip recently) and please rewind on eBay.
Always be building value in something real.
