I don't know. Your interpretation is that the New Covenant utterly erases what was prior established and ordained by God? As I understand, the Old Testament is still considered critical text that is later fulfilled by Jesus, not that some of the Old Testament was fucked up and could be thrown away. I agree it's not exactly righteous what that text states, but I think you're pointing out an issue that also is inherently tied to Christianity. And that's not to trash Christianity. I think there is problematic text in religious text all over, and it's not exactly fair to hyper fixate on problematic text like this to trash one and not another.
