Got bored of it, tried hyprland, it was nice, then set it as default in lightdm and a bunch of stuff broke, worked out the problem was that it wasn't starting dbus, xfce was starting it and not stopping it when I'd switch over, so now every time I update hyprland I go insert a dbus wrapper for it.
Current impressions: actually hyprland would probably be better if everything were xwayland than if everything were native. (And being half and half is worse.)
