Sourcing truth from the tradition of the prophet is exactly what we should do. The prophet IS our source. Tribalism appears when people deviate from the prophets tradition. You think during the times of the prophet, ahmadis and quranists and what not existed? No of course not.
What i believe in is that the word of Allah and his prophet are absolute. Allah and his prophet said that the deen is completed. Adding new celebrations or traditions or pillars or something is haram. This is what the prophet believed in too.
