Hard disagree. Mute/block allows you to curate a better online experience. Nobody truly needs the drama and conflict you see on the modern net. By all means, have productive discussions with people who want to have a respectful, adult discussion with you but that's incredibly rare in this day and age.
Therefore, the mute/block button helps prevent the extra stress. Plus, some people don't deserve the time of day, such as pedo apologists, obnoxiously antagonistic individuals and so forth.
