I would have loved my wife even if she's been a majority-population Swede. But I gotta say, it really adds to the fun and joy of this long marriage that she's from the other end of Eurasia and has this huge cultural competence which I lack entirely.
Whoever you marry, there's no guarantee that it'll work out. But it's a source of pride and joy to me that my wife has all these perspectives that would have been closed to me without her.
