I can certainly agree with your comment on the AUR. I love the concept but you really do have to be careful with it. As for Pacman, I can't bring myself to agree on that, I find it to be the most enjoyable package manager out there due to its speed and the fact that it takes less typing than apt and dnf.
But again, completely fair to just not enjoy it for your own use case!
