The third step is education and recruiting. We must teach our children serving others in government service careers is a high calling: teaching, public health, military, conservation; there are myriad opportunities, the full range of human talent and expertise is needed and within anyone’s reach, from a government scientist searching for the cure to a disease, to the sanitation worker keeping our neighborhoods safe and clean. All are honorable. All are needed.
