I knew a guy who had spent the last 40 years diving deeply into things for 5 to 10 years at a time.
He won some bass fishing tourneys and "knew" every navigatable body of water within 120 miles, private pilot, master wood worker,, scratch golfer.
Then he'd just stop.
But he retained the knowledge.
Amazing guy. Wish I would have picked his brain more.
