nobody has sticks anymore, so nobody can actuallly learn how to drive them. Unless your family is lucky enough to have kept something predating cashforclunkers or a second, sportier car, chances are increasingly good that a 20 yo hasn't even touched a manual transmission
It's crazy, but they were only 6% or so of the output 15 years back. So they learn the steps online and assume they can figure it out as they go
