Obviously the CalDigit dock did not like the optical cable. Like it doesn’t like any cable, operating system or host. This thing was a complete waste of money considering the troubles I have with it.
A cheap 40€ Anker does the trick. Not what I’d like for the final setup and my desk looks horrible for a few weeks now, but at least I can test that everything is working.
