Frustrating. I haven't used a whole lot outside of Python in the past few years, but suspected it's like this everywhere.
I know I've contributed to this trend myself, but I'm not sure what the better solution is. Projects die - that's a fact of life in software and the physical world.
As a package maintainer, what's the best way to mitigate the problems caused by a project's eventual death?
As a dev, is there a better way to move forward than forking a dead project with a new name?
