I am not a block universe determinist; I do not believe that the future is already set, or that human beings are subject to an infinite loop of historical mistakes and calamities. I'm not a physicist, but it seems pretty obvious that probability, not certainty, binds and smooths out the universe.
So, I think that grounds my hope. My hope is grounded in physics lol.
But like, *there is a real possibility that this does not go sideways*.
For one, we live in a unique time in human history.
