Rachel Reeves clearly hopes the (relatively) positive picture of public investment that was central to her prevention of the spending review this week, will offer some (but not complete) cover for the £5bn reduction in disability benefits that comes to the Hose of Commons this week (already modified from what was originally proposed)....
Many will be hopping for a major back-bench rebellion to push further moves to reinstate benefits, but the whips are working hard to snuff it out.
