I think a lot of people have the idea of the elusive "bullshit profession" in their minds -- a whole class of jobs you happen to not have where people get paid to do nothing of value. They never do anything that improves the state of YOUR world, so, surely they're unneeded. But corporate keeps paying them for some god-forsaken reason, and reality is clearly a clown world. 🤡
In reality, the accusatory person just doesn't see the effects of that profession because they're not immersed in that professional's world enough. If they were at least the professional's manager, they'd give them orders and get reports of their duties, letting them see the causes and effects of the "bullshit" profession in realtime.
If you think a profession is bullshit, an easy and effective way to get rid of that preconception is to look up a Youtube playlist that teaches the introductory course for that profession and watch at least the first 2 hours of it. You'll pretty quickly be given reasons why it is useful.
