I have owned my own business for over 20 years. Profit is what’s left after all costs have been paid. It’s over and beyond what was needed to produce the product at current market rates. All costs includes all compensation. If there is “profit” left over, the producers of the profit can decide to reduce the price going forward or not, they can decide to pay themselves the fruits of their labor now or save it, they can decide to invest those resources to better their means or conditions.

When you take profits incentive out of things like healthcare, food, shelter, and education, like many countries have it is beneficial for the society as a whole. Would you like examples of how socialism has made other countries better than countries who function solely on capitalism and for profit incentive?
