I was at peak looksmaxxing in Summer 2021 after 1.5 years of working out every other day without fail. I looked jacked without drugs and was at my old super-middleweight fighting weight. At that time I was working out multiple times a week (using the no rest model of working out that you have mentioned moreover) and also hiking often 5-7 miles per day as well. Since then my discipline never got that good again.
I am still very active but to replicate that level of success I'd have to be much more careful about diet. Back then I mostly ate meat and vegetables, and I didn't exactly count calories so much as ruthlessly control portion size. However, I am going to have to do this whether I want to or not for a much more prosaic reason than looks or even health and fitness. I don't want to have to buy new clothes, I want to stay at a 34 and get back down to a 32.
