The truth doesn't have to make sense and rarely does, but lies have to. I think she is untangling a web of how power operates in the shadows, because Charlie's assassination was orchestrated by the same dark forces that were probably responsible for Erika being in his life to begin with. If this is so, that makes me really concerned for her safety.
