Don't want to start a war. Just to mention the truism that different tools have different tradeoffs and that does not mean one is better than the other.
That being said:
- (Current) Bitcoin had no hard forks
- Bitcoin is protected by a hashrate that's orders of magnitude larger and that can't be outpaced with generic hardware
- Higher cost to validate transactions (in CPU, RAM, and tx size)
- Bitcoin has a limited supply. NGU technology is very important for a SoV! And nice to have for a MoE.
- Monero has no layer 2, protocols are built in layers and blockchains don't scale
All of this might be worth it for some particular person doing some particular task, but the privacy gains are not a free meal!
