I think that ideologically, conservatism contains elements that groom its followers to get rooked by scammers like Paltrow and Jones. First, of course, is the hierarchical nature of conservatism. Corey Robin's *The Reactionary Mind* seeks to find a common thread running through the many different strands of "conservative" thought.
