For women in work, living & working in a rural area (whatever its advantages - or not - around wellbeing & health) the range of opportunities available mean that they are often payed less than they would be living in the city... indeed, when women move from urban to rural work locations their wages often drop; but for men, there is no such country-work penalty.

Yet one more area where the gender pay gap is evident. And the key? Childcare availability!
