I noticed a conection between this BIP 110 shit and Battletech, especaily the Word of Blake (you could not make this up )

The BIP-110 fork isn't a Bitcoin story. It's a BattleTech story — specifically the Word of Blake's Jihad. The mapping is so clean it's scary.

Word of Blake: a ComStar splinter born in 3052 when the mother church "sold out" and went secular. They believed THEY were the only true heirs of the sacred doctrine — everyone else was heretical, and salvation meant fleeing the "corrupted vision."

2026 translation: "BIP110 is Bitcoin," and the main chain is the invalid one. 97.5% of the network disagrees. They don't care.

The prophecy: Blakists believed they'd rise to power THROUGH the Star League. When it dissolved in 3067 — right as they were about to join — they snapped and launched the Jihad: war on the entire Inner Sphere.

The 2026 version: the fork was supposed to win. It stalled at TWO BLOCKS (Aug 9 — 2.53% signaling vs 55% needed). So they escalated. Hello, BLAKE2b hard fork, ~Sept 1: "fire the miners," restart the chain with new PoW.

The characters write themselves. The Master/Precentor = Luke Dashjr: sabbatical from Ocean, removed as BIP editor, personally writing the new block header — the fanatic who sees himself as the last pure guardian of the doctrine.

The Roughnecks = the pool that mined those 2 blocks: "a band of plebs who risked their own bitcoins against centralized hash power." That's literally a Blakist martyr hagiography.

The naming cope: "The Bitcoin brand must not be surrendered" → the new chain will be called "Bitcoin-Blake2b." WoB claimed the Star League's mantle; the fork claims the name. A PoW switch = a new coin (Adam Back and every calculator agree), so the algo suffix exists purely so nobody has to say "altcoin."

Dark forces. The Roughnecks blamed a hashrate drop on "dark forces working against us" before announcing the switch. In canon, that's the Blakists declaring the Jihad because the prophecy broke. In reality, it's the free market leaving.

The ending, spoiled for both: the Blakists were defeated on Terra in 3081, and the survivors were REINTEGRATED into ComStar. Neo-Blakist cells kept the faith into the 3140s — posting "BIP-110 was right" in 2046 is the White Hand, terrorizing the Periphery.
The Jihad took 14 years and the network didn't notice. The sequel has worse writing and less hashrate. ⛏️
