I know someone who was driving on the ice with his 2 sons and his niece. The car then went throw the Ice. He first saved his niece, pulled her out of the car, then he went in after his 2 sons and the whole car disappeared and they were never seen again.
This was not a logical choice. It happened fast and he didn't have time to think, just went for the one that was closest first.
