As an attempt to "cleanse" my timeline I muted all the news outlets that I follow for a week as an experiment.
They all turned on in the last hour and now my timeline has turned back into a depressing hellscape.
I'm gonna unfollow.
Ignorance is bliss but I don't need the angst injection when I'm just hanging out and doing nerdy things.
