I think there's a broad recognition that AI is good at certain things. The resistance from this community seems to be more about how AI is being crammed down everyone's throats whether they want it or not, how it's flaunting data privacy and security concerns at every turn, and how it's raping the environment and scarce natural resources in the process. To say nothing on AI's hoovering up copyrighted works while cheapening and degrading the creative process that drives so many careers in the arts. In short, the resistance comes from people who have decided that the trade-offs with AI are unacceptable.
