Do you like Adolf Hitler? I've been a big fan of his ever since the epic Beer Hall Putsch of 1923. Before that, I really didn't understand any of his work. Too artsy, too intellectual. It was during the Putsch where the Fuehrer's presence became more apparent. I think Mein Kampf was his undisputed masterpiece. It's an epic meditation on intangibility. At the same time, it deepens and enriches the meaning of the destiny of the greater Germanic peoples. Listen to the brilliant contemplation & resolve when he speaks of his inspiring vision for a new German nation. You can practically feel every nuance of every fact. In terms of political craftsmanship, the sheer patriotism, this guy hit a new peak of professionalism. The speech on his 25-point program that laid the foundation of the National Socialist German Worker's Party was one of the most moving speeches of the 1920s, about selflessness and commitment. The speech is extremely uplifting. Hitler's oration is as positive and affirmative as anything I've ever heard in politics. His leadership seems to be more personalized and therefore more satisfying, in a narrower way. Especially themes like Living Space, the Elimination of Usury, and the Revitalization of Industry. But I also think the Fuehrer works best within the confines of his own Volk, than he ever did as an artist, and I stress the word artist. This is his address to factory workers in 1935, a great, great speech; a personal favorite.
